Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique is a form of guided self-acupressure, based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments – but without the invasion of needles. The process is quick, painless and simple to learn, with results that are real and permanent.
At various points in your life, your energy system (namely the meridians) has been disrupted. Negative thoughts, experiences and traumas disturb the system, and emotional issues occur. Every time you experience the negative emotion again the same disruption happens within your body’s energy system.
By simply tapping with the fingertips on specific energy points on the body, while tuned into the issue or problem (whether it is a traumatic event, addiction, pain or anxiety), and voicing a reminder phrase which enables the person to remain focused on the problem, this works to clear the disruption or emotional block in the body’s energy system, and establishes harmony, restoring the mind/body balance.
A brief intro to meridians
Meridians are central to Chinese Medicine. They are pathways in the body, which energy flows along. Meridian are usually associated with an organ, so there are meridians for Stomach, Spleen, Gall Bladder, Liver and others.
By clearing meridians that run to the part of your body where you are experiencing problems, the problems can heal more rapidly.
With EFT we tune into the negative emotion and tap on meridian points on the face, fingers, and upper body to balance out any disruption that is there. Once the imbalance is cleared you will no longer feel the negative emotion.
